“Petit Kiddo is a creamy liniment of organic olive oil, limestone water and bentonite clay which is an old French recipe and the common way to change nappies in France. Not only does this liniment have a beautifully simple and non-toxic formulation, but I found it works really effectively for its 3 in 1 claim of cleansing, moisturising and creating a barrier. The olive oil makes even a sticky nappy change a breeze as everything wipes off so easily. My son’s skin didn’t flare between changes and so whilst using it added an extra product compared to using a disposable wipe, I found I then didn’t need to add a nappy balm after.
As I am not using cloth nappies at the moment, I did find the reusable wipes more difficult to maintain. I used a tissue to wipe the nappy area fairly clear before I used the reusable wipes to reduce the washing required. If using cloth nappies, then the washing is no more to use reusable wipes than you would already be doing. When I did use cloth nappies, I found it even easier to use reusable wipes than disposable ones as both would be put in for washing, rather than needing to separate the wipes out for the bin. Reusable wipes are by far the most environmentally friendly option and Petit Kiddo is the perfect product to pair them with.
I did also use this liniment with organic cotton pads and it works so well. The larger the cotton pad, the better it worked. I went through the cotton pad pack pretty quickly though, so using reusable wipes is definitely a more cost effective and environmentally friendly option.
If you are choosing to use cloth nappies, then Petit Kiddo is my number 1 recommendation for a baby wipe when combined with reusable organic cotton wipes. It is a wonderful, effective non-toxic alternative to both disposable wipes and nappy balms.”

“Petit Kiddo Baby Bum Care Liniment is a great alternative to baby wipes from both a concept and eco point of view. It’s a lovely creamy texture and wipes on easily with a cloth, cleaning up mess and applying a moisturising barrier to the skin. I especially found it as a great alternative to a cold wash cloth in the morning for the toddler’s freshen up. He appreciated it as well! Such a neutral smell I’d almost call it scent free. A great all in one (cleanser, moisturiser, barrier) cream.

“This is a fantastic alternative to using packet after packet (after packet) of wipes on your baby’s bottom, which is something I’ve always felt guilty about. I found it surprisingly easy to switch from wipes to cloths with the aid of this wonder-lotion. You just need one squirt per nappy change, sometimes two for poo nappies. I love the lotion itself – a super blend of olive oil, limestone water and bentonite clay, and I love that it doubles as a moisturiser and barrier against nappy rash. I’ve seen a significant improvement in redness on bub’s bottom since I started using it. It also works well as hand lotion for me 😉
The only drawback is washing the flannels, but I’m finding I’m only going through one per day and I’ve just been handwashing most of them at the end of the day, anyway. Besides, you can always use cotton pads instead.”

“Really great to use with cloth nappies to assist with wiping, helps clean the area really well and get rid of the urine smell.”
