“Mashblox are small cubes of translucent silicone with a slit at the top. They sound simple… and they are… simply game changing! They fit perfectly into little hands and can be filled with anything – we’ve done everything from frozen peas to porridge. A child can either reach into the cube for something they can pick up with their fingers or they can hold the cube to their mouth and squeeze for something soft like yogurt. This essentially works a bit like a food pouch except that a child can actually see what they are eating which helps them develop a much better relationship with food. If dropped, the blocks also keep the contents enclosed and so make mealtimes a lot less messy. They also let a child self-feed and have autonomy before they are capable of using cutlery. There is a lot of research about self-feeding being hugely beneficial for babies – from helping them develop body proprioception to hand eye co-ordination and oral motor skills.
One of my favourite things about Mashblox and which completely sets it apart from pouches as well is that you can properly clean it. You can completely turn the cube inside out.
My son is 18 months old and loves these cubes. He does get over zealous and squeeze the contents everywhere sometimes, proud of the little eruption of food spouting out the top… but I can promise you it’s nothing on what he would be doing if I was giving him full control of a bowl and spoon!
Mashblox are an amazing non-toxic mealtime product which benefits both child and parent by giving a child autonomy and a parent less mess to clean up! Win-Win.”

“Mashblox is a genius idea. These silicone cubes are perfect to encourage self feeding and so easy to hold. What I love about them is that they are easy to fill, use and most importantly turn inside out and wash. Great for little hands to practice eating, coordination and they make mealtime fun. My baby has had a wonderful time exploring new foods this way and loves the feel of the block in his hands.

“These are an innovative little product and I was keen to test the blocks out on my kids. My 3 yo loves eating snacks like nuts, raisins and blueberries from them and I love that I don’t have to worry about losing any lids from containers when we’re out and about.
With my 12 mo, I tried inserting different meals of mashed food into them such as avocado, dahl and mashed banana and while he certainly loved eating from them, he couldn’t figure out how to extract the food without my help – despite leaving it with him to figure it out several times and then giving up and demonstrating to him. I’m yet to try frozen food so I’ll give that a whirl, otherwise I might try it again in a few more months.
Love that they are made entirely from medical grade silicone and that the packaging is recyclable.”

“Such a great idea! If I’d had this as an option at meal time, I think it would have saved a lot of disputes over what food was going in & what food was being thrown out! I’ve passed this onto a mother who will find this incredible to use at meal times as under 2 year olds can be oh so fussy. I also have a lot of respect for this product as the design serves others who find it hard to feed themselves. I can see this being useful at any age & for any one with any kind of difficulty feeding themselves, being able to function independently can greatly affect your moral. Even if these blocks can allow someone to feed themselves some yoghurt or an ice block, anything that can support independent feeding is empowering at any age.”

“Loved the quality and idea behind this one. Quality is great, made meal times a little more exciting for my 11 month old.”
